Lecture 2 - Is it Love or Something Else?

Spoke to someone who has been here for a year and learnt from her that the crunch of moving into a new culture only comes later, a few months after arriving when things no longer seem to be novel anymore. That's the time when complains come and things around become irritating. Sounds like a relationship, lol. Hence, my 'adapting' now isn't that great a thing, it's just that I haven't reached that stage yet.

The next series of lectures are on what true love is, and why true love waits. The links to HIV are obvious. And as expected, the first lecture this evening seen a great turn-out, filling almost the entire lecture theatre. We had skits in the lectures to portray 'counterfeit love', and because the female actress, a staff, was too shy to play in a particularly embarrassing skit (she was already having trouble playing the girlfriend of the male staff), guess who had to take over? I can say this is the worse situation after the famed matrix robbery. I have to do this 3 more times... and our boss said he'll have his wife bring a camera, or even a video cam... I can't access youtube here, for some reason, so hahaa, you won't get to see it.

It's might not be a surprise to note that more than 2 thirds of the lecture attendees were female. And also, just this morning, the female staff asked our visitors, a married couple, to give a talk on how to find a mate, within His will of course. We guys had a lesson as well, and indeed, I learnt something new.

Can't wait to get another shot at climbing up a mountain which I only managed less than half last friday!

Didn't know it was so easy to setup a chat box. Realised Larry had one with standard blogger template so decided to look around the blog setup page. Will be removing the moderation for comments too, since most likely there won't be anymore of them, hahaa. Just watch what you say on the chat box or comments should you decide to still do that.

This week was rather hectic. Afternoons are alright, but nights are all burnt. Lectures and small groups with the students of the university. The topic was media influence, and it made me realise how much movies and songs, and esp games. Look at dead space on youtube if you want to see how violent games can get. Warning, extreme gore, digusting monsters and horrible ways of dying. Not for the faint hearted.

Also, you can listen to this ridiculous song.

A couple of my friends and I went for a climb up a mountain. Turns out they had a little park up there. Quite a nice view.

My first photo on this blog, hahaa.

Just a month and He has already shown me so much about myself. There is still a long way to go, but when I start focusing on 'fixing' myself and less on Him, I've already lost focus.

First task

Back from the hospital in shi lin (stone forest). Had a chance to be in an operation, not me, but just there to observe and help translate for the American doctor working with the chinese.

Take a look at this.

Hotel suite? It's the VIP suite at the hospital, the first 2 pics were the living room. The next 2 are that of the patient's room.

Right, photos of accomadation must always have this room. There 2 of them, one linked to the living room and one to the patient's. No hot water though there was supposed to be.

View outside the window at night. A garden. But why the green lights? Looked kind of creepy.

A bit of JL (Jia Lin) syndrome here. The doctors brought us out for dinner. I only posted the picture of a dish I found unique. This is donkey meat. Tastes not too bad. There was pigeon as well, but to me, it tasted like duck.
